We are happy to announce that the 1st Zach Lohr Memorial Scramble was a huge success! Held on August 31, 2019 at Paradise Lake Country Club, there were 144 golfers (the maximum amount permitted to golf) who were joined by many volunteers and supporters. After an absolutely perfect day for golf, the evening ended with a delicious dinner provided by Guido’s of Ravenna along with prizes for the golfers and many raffle basket drawings.
We are indebted to our family and all of Zach’s friends as well as our own for their continued support in our lives. Thank you to Ohio Health Benefits for being the Title Sponsor. Thank you to all the golfers for helping us celebrate Zach’s life by playing the game he loved so much. Thank you to all the generous sponsors, raffle basket donors, monetary donors, cookie bakers, and everyone who gave their time to help make the day one we will never forget. And thank you to those who weren’t able to be there who sent heartfelt thoughts and prayers for the day.
We are ecstatic to announce that after expenses $31,350.79 was raised of which all will be donated directly to Hope United in Zach’s name and memory. Hope United is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization bringing education, support, and recovery to communities suffering from the opioid and heroin epidemic. Please visit their website at www.hopeunited.lifefor their complete story.
Pictures were taken during the scramble of every sponsorship sign and raffle basket donated. Golfer team photos were also taken as well as candid photos throughout the day. If there are any photos posted here that you’d like to have prints of, email Alex Rhodes at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will email you the jpeg image for printing. Unfortunately, as hectic and fast paced as things were during the dinner and raffles, we have no pictures. If you have any pictures you took during that portion of the event PLEASE email them to email@example.com we can post some of them
Along with raising money for Hope United, our goal was for the scramble to be well received and successful so it might become an annual event. God willing, there will be a Zach Lohr Memorial Scramble for many summers to come. Keep your eyes open early next spring (or sooner) for when we announce details for the 2020 Zach Lohr 2nd Annual Memorial Scramble.
Sincerely, Rick and Stephanie Lohr
